Blog dedicated to iriv's projects on migration
Since the Amsterdam Treaty of 1997, migration has become a main issue in Europe. According to the Communication of the European Commission published in 2007, third countries' nationals living in the European Union were 18.5 billion in 2006 (3.8% of the total population of EU). In its second handbook on integration published in 2007, the European Commission underlines that "two processes are critical to improving immigrants' outcomes: the elimination of inequalities, and the acquisition of competences". These challenges are at the heart of integration policies in Europe.
On the occasion of the 10th birthday of its projects on migration (2003-2013), the Institute for Research and Information - iriv (www.iriv.net), a private institute specializing in the non-for-profit sector in Lifelong Learning (LLL), is glad to offer a weblog dedicated to projects implemented by iriv in France or with European partners since 2003.
